My name is Alexa Peters. If you are planning a wedding in Las Vegas while living somewhere else, then you are probably discovering that it is not that easy, even if you do have a wedding planner. You still have to make lots of decisions about what type of wedding you want, where to have your wedding, where to have your reception, where your guests should stay, what activities you want to do, etc. I Was In Your Shoes I was in your shoes. I was living in New Jersey and planning a wedding in Miami. It was not easy. All I could rely on were websites and input from others. I did not have access to a FULL LIST of vendors, locations, etc. Not having lived in Miami, I was not sure if I was selecting the right places. Actually, I did not even know what the right places were or how to find out. When I needed something I knew that I was being charged extra because I was a Bride-to-Be. I was not getting the same deals as if I were a local. And I could not trust a wedding planner to tell me the truth. After all, they make money off the vendor charges in addition to what you pay them (I hope I am not making anyone angry by saying this)! You Can Save Money In the end, it all worked out. We had a beautiful wedding and had a lot of fun. I was lucky to meet a nice Concierge named Carlos that helped me tremendously. And he let me in on the secret of planning a"destination wedding"….Get to know all of the resources in the City,not just the ones that bill themselves in the wedding category. Carlos showed us where to get the "regular" priced items, not the tourist or bridal prices. My now-husband and I had a blast discovering all of Miami and saving a ton of money in the process. We selected the right location, hire a local photographer for 75% of the costs, had reservations at the best local restaurants with the best food and service and more.
